" The Minotaur Woman"
|
Performance Art for Art’s sake Performance Art has always been an open-ended medium, which offers endless possibilities for expression. The performance artist’s aim is to take art directly to the public, an act that could be considered anarchic. However, the simplest definition of performance art, which I have found, is that it is live art made by artists. The way of representing this artistic expression brings to life the artist’s conceptual ideas on which his work is based. This live gesture pretends to be used as a weapon against the barriers established between different cultures, languages and of course against the conventionalism of established art. There is an untold story, which is free to interpretation and imagination. It pursues the awakening of the senses and the development of a sensibility. My goal is to raise questions and to gain awareness about some aspects of human being and life. The "Minotaur Woman" is a live performance which took place the 17th of March during a private view in an Art Exhibition in Ashford, Kent.
